MiTek colleagues across the globe came together to mark International Women’s Day with a series of activities aimed to empower women and inspire change.

Organised by the MiTek Women Employee Resource Group (ERG), everyone from MiTek took part in events under MiTek’s chose theme for 2025 of ‘Empower. Accelerate. Belong. Women Driving Transformational Change’ over the course of two days in the week leading up to International Women’s Day this March.

For the fifth annual International Women’s Day conference, MiTek UK & Ireland held a quiz based on this year’s theme at its Dudley head office with colleagues from across the business invited to join alongside a collaborative buffet lunch.

There was also a photo booth and installation wall, where people were invited to write about women who have inspired them within their own lives.

Later in the day, the group came together for a watch party to view a special talk from keynote speaker Jennifer Carter, CEO of EWF International.

Streamed from America, Jennifer, an expert in transformation leadership development, explored what it meant to be empowered, accelerate change and find belonging.

The following day, colleagues took part in a number of online events and workshops which continued to focus on the 2025 theme. These included fireside chats and even an online self-defence class, which was streamed from America. Frontline staff were also engaged with additional activities, such as bracelet making.

Joanne Morgan, UX Researcher at MiTek, helped organise activities in the UK. She said: “Every year, we have a theme and each function, or site, will come up with various activities surrounding the theme. We have people taking part all over the globe, from America to South Africa, Australia and Vietnam, which is incredible. It’s all about doing something collaborative and engaging as many people across the workforce as possible.”

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on 8 March and is dedicated to the advancement of women worldwide. The day celebrates and honours the achievements of women across all aspects of life.
