MiTek’s Transformation Team supported local and national good causes and charities throughout 2024, demonstrating the importance of giving back.
Guided by MiTek’s primary giving pillars of Shelter Humanity, Protect Our Planet, and Educate to Innovate, we contributed not just funds but also our time and energy to benefit a wide range of causes.
During MiTek’s Hearts and Hands Week in September, volunteers came together to help children entering emergency accommodation by packing 180 Buddy Bags filled with essentials. In addition, we supported Midlands Air Ambulance in Merry Hill by sorting donations, as well as the Black Country Food Bank, where we collected 285kg of food and 7.8kg of toiletries – enough to provide 174 meals and 12 toiletry packs.

Throughout the year, our team also took part in:
- A bake sale that helped fund lifesaving services at Action Heart in March.
- The DK10K race, supporting Black Country Mental Health, in May.
- A property renovation for DiscoverU in June. Twenty-six volunteers shortened a critical learning space project for adults with disabilities by six months.
- A charity walk that raised vital funds for Age Concern Stourbridge and Halesowen in July.
- A litter pick of the local area in September,
- A Christmas toy donation for children at The Haven Refuge in November and December.
- A Christmas jumper day for CRASH in December.
Charlotte Cox, Software Engineer, Residential EMEA, who leads the Transformation Team in Dudley reflected on the year.
She said: “Seeing so many people come together to make a real difference is so special. Together we can have such an impact for good.
“One event that really stood out for me this year was the Buddy Bag event we hosted on our shop floor. 35 volunteers came together to pack 180 bags full of essentials and nice items for children who, for one reason or another, are entering emergency accommodation.
“We will really kick off our planning for 2025 in January, but I am looking forward to doing more – more volunteering, more involvement from our team. I am excited to see what we can achieve.”
